New to the Area
As Priest-in-Charge I look forward
to the opportunity to meet you. Since my appointment in September
2003 I have very much enjoyed getting to know the delights
of the area and the unique qualities, which make up the life
of the church of St. John the Baptist. You will find we are
a small friendly local church with some very interesting and
talented members. All kinds of social events and activities
take place and all manner of occasions celebrated.
You are
always welcome to join us for worship or at any of our groups
and social events.
We welcome people of any faith or none.
Mandy Beck
Priest-in-Charge
How
to become involved: Come
along to one of our services or social events. If you are
interested in music, working with children or older people,
doing D.I.Y., gardening, arranging flowers or organising
social events there is a place for you here. So whatever
your talents or skills if you want to become involved we
would be delighted for you to do so. Simply contact the Parish
Office - or come along on a Sunday and we will make you welcome.
You will
meet our church members in the wider community. Many are
members of the local residents associations, or can be found
working on their allotments, supporting the neighbourhood
watch, as well as queuing in the local Post Office and shopping
in the local stores. You will also find them in the Parish
Hall or doing the ‘weekly shop’ at ASDA where
I am a Chaplain. We also have strong links with Kingston
University, Robin Hood School and the Village Hall.
